A local jazz legend, Popeye Maupin, had special glass eyes for each of
the major holidays.  A shamrock for St Patrick's Day, a flag for the 4th
of July, etc. To quote Mark Twain,  "...it never bothered the adults so
much, but it always made the children cry.">
