Does Medium Format count? Why just 35mm?

Even designing a new camera from the ground up usually ends up using
existing camera lenses, not many people design their own lenses too.

Go to my "progress report" page at:
http://www.arlington.net/homes/dlewis/mfcam/mfcam.html
for my Medium Format stereo camera that was designed as a new camera.
But, as with almost all hand built cameras, it uses existing lenses. In
this case I am using Mamiya C330 80mm lenses.
