P3D Hobbyists, dealers, P3d, S3d

Good morning!

Let me assess the situation with a clear head...  There is some tension 
over the issue of "true hobbyists" who offer products, services, advice 
at cost or loss to promote stereo, and those who possibly aim at a profit.
IMO, there is room for both in our stereo community.  How about photo-3d?

Commercial postings should be avoided in P3d.  Announcing new products
and services and promoting non-for-profit organizations (like clubs,
NSA, etc.) is OK.  Details about money, etc. should be posted in sell-3d.
Discussions about these products/services are not encouraged in sell-3d.

I have not seen anyone violate or challenge these rules.  If anyone
feels that P3d is used for commercial purposes they are welcome to 
discuss it here or with the list owner:  Bob Wier <wier@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Interestingly, in the USA the job of distributing equipment and key 
supplies for the survival of the hobby (like stereo mounts) has been left 
in the hands of companies or dealers, while in the UK the Stereoscopic 
Society is a non-for-profit organization which offers supplies at cost.  
The SS acts like a national club.  In the US there are local clubs who 
do the same but no organization has done this at a national level.
