P3D Ektagraphic Projectors
- From: Ray Zone <r3dzone@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Let me throw this out:
I am doing my 3-D slide shows with 2 E-2 Ektagraphic (Kodak) Carousel
Projectors linked together. All slides are precision glass mounted and
placed in the Transvue 80 Carousel trays. These projectors are workhorses
and have seen some use.
My problem is this: Lately I've noticed that one of the (stereo pair)
slides is NOT dropping completely when the carousel tray advances. So,
onscreen, I'm getting vertical deviation in the projected images. This is
not mounting error (I've checked) and is a problem with the slide not being
allowed to fully drop down.
I also noticed this problem at the 1996 SPIE Conference in San Jose when
two rental Ektagraphics which had obviously seen alot of use weren't fully
dropping my glass-mounted slides and producing this vertical discrepancy
onscreen as a result. Obviously a problem for any 3-D projection.
My question is this: Is this an inevitable condition of age and is it
correctable? If a cleaning or adjustment is in order, anybody out there do
this or know where it can be done? I would like to continue to use these
projectors and they are expensive.
Thanks (as Lawrence Kaufman says) For the Time,
