>>>This puny condition makes me even more anxious to see the analog slide
rule idea in operation, so I hearby offer the Springsteen Prize.
The first person to devise and demonstrate to me a straight or
circular slide-rule-type device which allows stereo base calculation
that does not violate the basic rules of Bercovitz/Spicer; which uses
no electricity, steam, gas or other non-human-power source; and which
allows for the calculation of any far distance between 1 foot (or
less) and infinity (or more); or who can demonstrate to me the prior
existence of such device meeting all said criteria,

It's funny you should mention that. Last night I found such a device;
actually, two of them. Circular as you described, analog as required.
However, I am not sure about any violation of rules. Included in the patent
documents were quite a few mathematical formulas and concepts I am not sure
I want to figure out. High level stuff, page after page, on and on, my
brain exploded, explaining the various concepts of the device. Actually
there are 2 devices I found: One patent assigned to Dimensional Development
Corporation, designed/patented by Jerry Nims, the Nims in NimsLo, and Allen
K. W. Lo, the Lo in NimsLo. The other one patented by some folks from Image
Technology.

Both are, as you probably know, Lenticular People.

Here again, I have not studied either device to see if it violates any
rules. Patent Numbers are: #3,908,112 and #5,059,771. Remember, a patent
issued means the device works. I pointed out the patents exist, and I think
I should be at least considered for the prize.

Actually, there is in Patent #5,059,771, a neat idea for a slide bar. It
has a little gauge that would make this type of photography easier. Gang,
take a look at both patents.

Cheers

RM
