P3D The Springsteen Prize

Fast work, Bob Maxey! But the ambiguous criterion regarding math
"violation" may be a loophole I can exploit (ala the endearing Mr.
Deering). If I do decide to allow alternate math that is
"essentially" close to Bercovitz/Spicer, then I may have to award
myself the "prior art" prize. This morning in my library, I found the
Polaroid Interocular [sic] Calculator, c. 1952, depicted in
"Foundations of Stereoscopic Cinema" by Lenny Lipton. Designed to
serve the needs of 3D filmmakers, it claims to allow for views in
stereoscopes as well. No particulars, but a 1953 article by S.
Kitrosser in "PSA Journal" may yield more detail. The illustration
clearly shows a range of object distances going from infinity to 2
feet - not quite enough to meet the Prize rules. How low does
far-point on your referenced patents go? And where did you find them
so quickly?

Actually multiple prizes may be awarded, depending upon the whims of
the judging committee. ;-)
