P3D test results

First off, I know nothing about camera testing. I'll admit I may have
blundered.

Summary: I shot a roll of test photos with three stereo, and I can't see
any difference. Is the problem my technique, or do these cameras all just
happen to be similar?

I took the three cameras to the roof, and put them on a tripod. I took a
meter reading, and figured out the correct aperture for each speed. I shot
the same aperture/exposure sequence on each camera. The focus was at
infinity, and the subjects were from 200ft to the horizon. I used the same
roll of film.

Under a loupe, they look identical. When I put the film under a low-power
microscope, I can't see any difference, either. The edges seem just as
crisp, the saturation is about the same. There are no details in one that
are not in another.

What am I missing? I thought there would be a big difference between
different models, but I don't see it. Any suggestions for a better test?

Right now I am shooting new test shots at ten feet. I have generated a
target with graduated fine lines. I am using a flash. I'm thinking this
might be a better real-world test for the kind of shots I usually make.
Ideas?

Tom
