Hey-
I think I finally got it.  After many tries, many hours and (phooey) many
dollars spent in experimentation, I finally made a VM electronic flash
adapter which is dependable, effective, and most importantly, makes me
happy.  Its inexpensive, an obvious solution (no brainer) and is a 30 minute
