I saw this on a TV news cast at the time - a very short segment, perhaps
10 seconds on a monitor behind the newscasters, showing a football
game. I was pretty surprised because even seeing the "picture in picture"
with this playing on the set behind them, I could see depth in it, even
though the newspeople were 2-D. The flicker was so bad that I never thought
it would be anything but a curiosity, though.
