P3D Tom's "practical" example

I was talking about practical macro stereo and then read Tom's example:

> Example:
> near point: 100 mm
> far point: 22000 mm
> focal length: 50 mm
> actual onfilm deviation: 1.2mm
> 1:30 bad guess: 1.7mm

Anyone who tries to take a macro stereo with near object at 4 inches
and far object at 73 feet, need to talk to me to explain to them
what they are doing wrong!!!!!

(unless if the background is totally out of focus - should be! - in
which case it does not matter)

>People that are struggling with this, take a roll of test shots.

Forget the test shots! Just go and shoot REAL pictures of REAL
objects in REAL situations.

I am sorry I sound nasty but I am tired of this thread too. It is
good to know what the on-film deviation will be but what is more
important is to take the picture.
