P3D Realist a P&S?

Mike K. basically answered but I would like to add that I am
using this term in an effort to take away the fear of using
a manual camera. If there are situations were the Realist
can be used with the three controls (focusing, shutter speed,
aperture) fixed then it is certainly easy to use.

Examples: Indoors pictures with flash in auto mode. Set
"realist" to 1/50, f8 (or whatever is dictated by the auto
mode in the flash), focus at 8 ft. You can shoot the
entire evening at the party like this!

Another example: Sunny day, normal (distant) photography.
Set 1/100 (w/ASA 100 film), f16, focus at 20 feet. Presto!

Calling the Realist (or any manual camera) P&S does not do
much justice to P&S cameras which also have autowind, etc.,
but with no seetings to touch, the manual camera is getting
there! (in these specific situations, of course)
