P3D Camera Definitions - Brief

>>I have no idea what most of the cameras you listed are. {:>) Can any of
them be set once and take two or more shots under the same conditions
without resetting *anything*? If so, then by George's and Mike's
definition, it is (or rather, is used *as*) a P&S.

I merely added those cameras because the post said all cameras can be
considered point and shoot. However, here are some definitions: An 11 X 14
view Camera is a large format camera using 11 x 14 film. Basically, a back
to hold a film holder, a lensboard and lens and a bellows, with rack that
allows focusing on a large ground glass screen.

A Cirkit Camera, various types, but all of them rotate one direction,
photographing through a slit on large roll film. Imagine a camera that uses
roll film 16 inches wide by many feet in length.

Mitchell 35MM Movie Camera is a professional motion picture camera that
uses 35MM film. Incidentally, I saw pictures of a dual Mitchell rig that
was blimped and used to make stereo movies. Front surface mirrors were used
to adjust interoccular separation.

A Colorama Camera...not used my Eastman much; they went to smaller formats
in later years, but was essentially a camera that held 10 x 24 or bigger
Cirkit film. It was used to make the Coloramas displayed at Grand Central
Station.

Cheers,

RM
