P3D 3D video experimenter

A gentleman who is new to the stereo
scene has recently contacted me and asked
if I can help with a 3Dhome video project he is
working on. Im afraid I understand nothing
about this field, but said I would post a query on
his behalf. Any help you can give to this new
recruit will be very warmly received, and I will pass
on to him (he does not have e-mail).
I quote
> I want to make 3d video home movies. So far
very crude experiments with a beamsplit VHS
camera giving 13degree or 19degree view
create a vertical, messy, stereo pair on TV,
which I can freeview on a 5inch screen and my son
on a 14 inch one. I propose redirecting the images (via a
prism?) into the camera so that the images are rotated
by 90degs. On a 10inch diagonal TV this would give
two 6x4 <prints> viewable by (say) ViewMagic.
Any comments or suggestions? In particular:
rotating the images:increasing angle of view
without slicing bits off the images between
mirrors/prism(s); viewing on larger TV screens
or with the <prints> upside down; viewer optics.
Thanks for your help<

Thanks from me too if anyone has any
helpful observations.
