A small request: As the frequency of references to web sites is
increasing, is it possible to include a small description of what
the reference is all about, for those who cannot access the web?

Without seeing what Tom is talking about I cannot comment, but my
Realist has a handy thing that does what Tom says his tool does.
This is the DOF scale. The depth range is between the f8 marks.
Works and it is extremely simple.

PS. DOF scales for the Realist are available from Ron Zakowski.
This trick is useful for ANY camera system. Stereo cameras
of Realist format could use the same DOF f8 marks. For other
systems it might be a different f-stop value. Charles Piper
and Abraam K. explained why this work. Piper, being conservative
as he aims for projection, recommends using the f5.6 marks.
