Hi Mark,

That's a very reasonable thought. All I can say is that with all of
the considerable handling that has taken place while I've been trying
to diagnose what's going on here, the Toshiba has *never* fired when
connected to the Realist and *never not* fired when connected to
either other camera, no matter how it is positioned. This is also true
when using a PC extension cord which gives no movement to the Toshiba
PC cord at all when changing cameras. You see now why I'm pulling my
hair out? It seems to defy all logic. Maybe I'm just a victim of
incredible odds.
