When I joined this list, some time ago, I sought wisdom from others as to
the etiquette of selling items. I was told that it was ok, if it was
done infrequently.
Like many of us, I like to try different approaches to things, so I might
buy a camera or projector or some other damn thing, use it for a while
and then move on by selling and trading. Under the above mentioned
vague guidelines I felt compelled to stay on the safe side by posting
very little for sale.
Sell 3D by no means opened up the floodgates, but it did raise my comfort
level and probably exposed me to things I would not otherwise have heard
of.
Now I'm involved with a small 3D photography club. The active members
are always on the lookout for fun things to try and in some cases we wind
up with too much stuff and no cash in the treasury. When the treasury is
low it puts undue pressure on the refreshment budget. When the time
comes to sell some stuff off, Sell 3D is an easy, usually quick, way to
do it. It has the added advantage of probably putting the stuff into the
hands of someone who will actually use it. That's one reason we always
post here before we use E-Bay, even though we can probably get a better
price over in the mad feeding frenzy of E-Bay. Several months ago I
advertised a projector (TDC 116) that was in good shape for a good price.
I had no offers so I placed it on E-bay and got $55 more than my
original asking price, but I would still rather post here, "among friends
as it were.
So I would like to see the Sell 3D list continue
