P3D VM Dupes (also net niceities)

The subject of VM dupe keeps popping up here. I gave a pretty
exhaustive overview of Dale Labs years ago and have forgotten
most, as I haven't done VM dupes since then.

A few points: the only print film worth considering, IMHO, is
Royal Gold (nee Ektar) 25. The only one that doesn't betray too much
grain. Be sure to ask NOT to have the neg. roll cut (so you can
send it back for another run of pos. slides). You may want to ask
for a pre-set "average" exposure, as the machine otherwise will
automatically expose separately for every 8 perfs and give uneven
results. You can send an "average" exposed slide for them to
calibrate the settings. You can also ask for "stadium" color
color adjusting for shooting under artificial light.

I really haven't been following the flaming and quitter threads.
I've never understood what it is about the 'net that brings out
the Mr. Hyde is so many timid souls. (Now, BEHIND THE WHEEL
I can understand, as my life and limb are subject to second-by-second
near-mishaps). Chill-out folks! It's only leedle pieces of glass, metal
and film we're talkin' 'bout here!
