P3D slide mounting rigs

Michael Georgoff <Michael_Georgoff@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> asked how slide
takers mount their slides to paper mounts.
Thanks to a workshop by Dr.Dave(David Kesner) at Richmond, I have
mounted slides in paper (Spicer) mounts with good results. He suggested
using an RBT mount as a template with the top or bottom rail cut off.
The opening of the RBT mount is preserved and the chips can be adjusted
for optimum by viewing prior to mounting or using the mounting guide. A
piece of tape on the film makes final placement to the mount nearly
error free. Just align the RBT mount over the paper mount and press the
tape to the mount. My method differs from Dr. Dave's but the main idea
is the same and the results are great. Gently remove the RBT mount,
seal it with tape and you are done. I made a light table and use an
Optivisor to help my poor close vision problem. I can't freeview with
it (too high magnifiers) but it works great.
Hope this helps.
Claude
