P3D RE: Slide Mounting Rigs

In Photo-3D Digest 2986 Michael Georgoff asks about slide
mounting rigs and accesories.
As most people should know by now, I am the prime advocate and
self appointed spokesman for the RBT jig to Spicer mount system.
I did not invent it and I take no credit for it. I just use it and use it
well enough to feel confident to instruct others (I even tried it in
front of over 100 stereophiles at NSA 98).
This is a method of using an RBT mount with a portion of the
bottom cut off as an alignment jig which can then be turned over on
a Spicer cardboard mount and taped down. It provideds mounting
precise enough for projection and acceptance in International
Stereo Competitions.
I will not go into specfics here as the archives are full of the info
you need. Just search on <RBT jig>.
I have also decided to make a video on this mounting system.
Unfortunately I am extremely busy right now, so it may take a
while. I will post to the list when it is done and available.
In regards to Michael's other question about viewing aids: I cut the
diffuser off of a Radex viewer and use it to check my alignment
before final taping. No, you can't look and move at the same time,
but you can look, adjust, and look again until you get it just right. I
also on very few occasions have to untape the chips and start over
after a final inspection in a Themelized Red Button shows a minor
discrepency.
If someone doesn't want to search the archives, I would be glad to
exchange ideas on personal email.
Thanks for the time,
