I cut the whole roll, lay the chips on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper, mount
all the left-hand chips by laying each one into the left side of a
heat-seal mount, eyeballing the framing, and sealing it down solid.
Then I mount the right sides by looking at each through a pair of lenses
as I hold the corner of the chip with finger and thumb. When the window
and framing are exactly right, I fold down the right side, pressing down
on the upper part of the cardboard frame with the left hand to pinch the
chip, pressing it against the back of the mount to hold it in position
before I let go of the chip with the right hand. Then I move the whole
thing to the ironing pad with both hands, and seal the right side with
the iron. One thirty-frame roll takes about one hour.
