It is my understanding that some, if not all, Realists were built
with "x" sync. The instruction book says to use flashbulbs at 1/25 only
and strobe (now called electronic flash) at any speed - instructions
consistant with "x" synchronization. My own relatively-early (S/N
19###) Realist 3.5 works with electronic flash at any speed without a
delay adapter. I know nothing about the Kodak in this regard.
Flash sync is a real concern with older cameras. "M" sync allowed
sync with flashbulb at any shutter speed, but, if one placed an
electronic flash on an "m" sync camera, the shutter would open after the
flash is already over. The Argus C-3 presents an interesting pitfall -
the factory switched from "m" sync to "x" sync in mid-production!
