I just opened my Revere viewer and discovered the batteries leaked.

The crud cleaned off the plastic pretty easily, but there is a spot of
corrosion on the metal contact.  Should I sand this down?  Is there a
better way?

P.S. The rest of you might want to check your equipment.  I also found I
left batteries in my ring flash (for at least a year and a half!) but
fortunately they didn't leak.
