P3D Filters contibute to/cause vignetting?

On the subject of Realist f16 and f22 vignetting, Bob Howard said, off-list,
"...the so called vignetting of the f/3.5 lenses is often due to filters or
shades being added..."

Whereupon the light bulb may have come on, as I've been using Genuine
Realist Haze Filters. Some fellows P-3D'er, who's name is lost to history,
advised that it'd be safe to keep the these on all the time to protect the
main lenses, and advised they'd contribute no ill effect to exposure or
color.

1. Could/would/might Haze filters cause and/or contribute to vignetting at
f16? (I believe it's commonly accepted that the Realist 3.5 will vignette
at f22?).

2. Any theories, advice, etc, on the wisdom, or lack of it, in keeping
Realist Haze Filters on all the time?

Replies welcome on-list or off.
