P3D Discontinued Film Sizes

You would think that a mega-corporation like Kodak with thousands of
employees could put a few dozen to work producing 127,828,620,116 and
maybe other formats of film. Even if they produced small runs, of say a
thousand rolls and froze them. Who else but Kodak would have the old
equipment and knowledge necessary? What better way of enhancing public
loyalty? Even if they lost a couple pennies a roll.
By the way. I received a roll of Kodachrome back today from Kodak which
luckily they did not cut, but it was loosly coiled and tossed back in
the package. No paper or plastic sleaving at all. It was slightly
crushed. It appears that it will mount up OK. What happened to the days
when it was neatly coiled in paper and gently placed in a nice Kodak box
which could be used later to store the mounted slides in?
