I apologize for this long list, but I had some great memories putting it
together. It scratches the surface if you look at Kodak's Past history.
Kodak Formats, Films, Papers, and Developers comment:
Film, more than 3 dozen sizes and more than 100 emulsions.
Papers, more than 100 different papers, in 6 contrast grades, more than 40
surfaces over the years. Not including the large sheet and roll sizes,
custom sizes offered and available for a low surcharge, boxed papers in
3-1/2 X 5 and other sizes, Postcard papers - with and without Deckle edges,
The Velox I loved so well, and on and on.
Kodachrome, 11 X 14 sheet size on down, many different sizes.
Chemicals, developers, fixers, toners, etc., more than 200.
Chemical sundries, more than 1000.
Several Amateur Color Printing Processes.
An active Eastman Fine Chemicals Division
Cirkit film and other large format roll sizes, dozens in color and black
and white.
Sheet film, dozens of sizes over the years.
Wrattin filters, 250 or so,
Stainless Steel filter holders and adapters, step-up rings, etc. more than
150 different ones.
Any Wrattin Gel also available in Glass series sizes, unmounted glass
series sizes, or in probably a hundred different screw-in sizes. Several
different thread pitches, too. (Say, anyone want to buy a 44.4 M Pola
Screen with viewer? How about a 17.5 mm Skylight filter)
More than a dozen different black and white printers,
Cameras, 6 or so 110 film sizes, 6 disk film sizes, the Instamatic Reflex
Cameras, and several different Instant film cameras, not to mention the
Medalists, the Retinas, the Cirkit Cameras, the dozens of others, the
attachments, literally thousands of items that were either cameras or
attachments/accessories for those cameras.
Enlarging lenses, Porta Lenses, 100 different view camera lenses ...heck,
hundreds of different lenses, and they were, for the most part, bloody fine
lenses to use. not too many better than an Ektar. Plenty of choices for
shutters as well.
Dataguides and books, well over 1000 different ones.
The list is endless, and I would love to see many of these things again.
For example, their adapter rings. These rings were machined from solid
stainless steel and are beyond anything produced today. Tiffen and others
have cheap aluminum, but Eastman's were different. $2.00 or so retail. I
also miss usually next day Kodachrome Processing.
But we do have digital, so I feel better.
