P3D Iron?

An easy way to avoid steam is to buy a cheap old travel iron (steamless)
at a trift store. Try to avoid non-stick coatings. I use mine on Hot. By
the way does anyone have experience with tacking irons. Do they get
hotter? Are they worth the $70 or so?
Also for the demographics, I'm a '57 model.
