Congratulations, Mark!  I think most of us go through this stage
in some form or other.  For some of us it is the realization that
those Kodalux-mounted stereo pairs just aren't good enough to hold
up to tough scrutiny, for others it is the realization that our
early mounting efforts were sub-par.  This is part of the large
learning curve that serves as one barrier to more widespread
participation in our hobby.  (I know DrT will reply about how
easy it all is, but for most people it is not easy, IMO.  It
is still not easy for me.)

It has been reported from time to time that Scotch Magic Tape (but
not necessarily all their tapes) is relatively archival and not a
bad choice for mounting slide chips.
