While vacationing last month w/ my in-laws, we visited Williamsburg
(wish I took my VM w/ me, instead of my Colorist - many, many
*little* photo ops there) and returned thru VA. Beach. They wanted to
visit the Aquatic Center there. I wasn't too thrilled on way or another
until we got to the ticket booth and saw that they had "Into the Deep"
playing there at their IMAX! I bought everyone a ticket and we rushed
over to the noon show. I sat pretty close to the exact center for a nearly
covered field of view. They had only polarized glasses - no LCD gizmos.
Great experience, esp. the opening scenes of the tall, swaying plants.
The cool AC blowing on me and the 6-track sound made me want to hold
my breathe and start paddling! You really could "suspend your disbelief"
(another magician's term :-) ) at these scenes. Some of the close-ups were
a strain, though.

Anyway, I was all set to go back to NYC (this time, with the correct address
in hand :-) ) to see the IMAX 3-D there. But, somehow, I don't thing a Mark
Twain 3-D film would hold as much interest to me as an underwater
film!
