P3D OSPS - October meeting

We had a great time last night in Cleveland OH! We started with a
presentation of the 2x2x2 show "Michigan Magic". This is the 4th
time I have seen it, but it always seems like I am seeing it for
the first time! Fantastic stereo images put together with professional
music and narration using the fast projection rate of 4 Ektagraphic
projectors. A "must see" program!

After a short brake we continued with our first stereo slide competition
of the year. The assignment was "Open". As I mentioned earlier, we
instituted the "people's choice". In the first round our 3 judges
scored but the score was not announced. People could score too on
their own. In the second round the scores and awards were announced
and the judges commented on each slide.

People could turn in a card with one vote, their favorite image.
Very good participation with 27 cards turned in! First place from
the judges went to Wayne Karberg for "Row Boat" and Don Peck for
"Fireweed" with 26/27 points. People's choice: "Row Boat".

There! People's choice same are judge's choice! I studied the cards
turned in and saw that the choices followed those of the judges, with
only a couple of exceptions (2-3 images got votes from the people
but no vote from the judges). Overall, good agreement this time!

I had good luck, placing all 3 images (3, 3, HM) and I am now in first
place (yeah!). Great performance by Harold Kaiman (2, 3) who is in
second place and Wayne Karberg with his 1st place is third. (All
gentlemen are in p3d).

Our meeting next month (first Tuesday) will feature a tutorial by DrT
on "Using a Manual Stereo Camera" and our second slide competition of
the year, "People". Email for more info!
