P3D Mediocre performance

My lackluster performance in Ohio's competition was eased by the
purchase of Paul Talbot's slide pages. These look pretty nice Paul, I
will be contacting you to purchase more. My first image entitled "Racoon
Park" a postcard effort of a pond followed to infinity, was not quite
focused in the projector. The monochromatic green image drew a long
silence in the room as judges yarbled through insufferably long thought
to find a single redeeming quality to mention. As the score reflects,
the image may just as well have been placed in a piniata at Mark
McGuire's birthday party. My second image entitled " Magic Moon Cottage"
a low light masterpiece involving two star filters creating a shimmering
moon over the shore as the tide approaches a pair of cottages. Certainly
my best of three, but not good enough. The announced score rang through
my ears like the equivelent Siskel & Eibert's " The balcony is now
closed!" OH NO! It's all a blur to me now, I remember Dr. T asking me if
the moon was supposed to look like that....was that intentioal?
Yea George.....thanks for asking. The third image entitled "Down in
Front" a bail of hay and a picnic basket in the extreme foreground and
an old time play being performed on an outdoor stage in the distance,
well, a favorite amoung friends, was NOT a favorite amongst my judging f
r i e n d s. My interpretation of the judging tongue sounded something
like this...a confusing pile of dead grain provided blockage to the
spectacularly inept flea stage a mile away, I see two seperate pictures
here, both of which I would not have taken....you suck..etc.
Oh well, Dr. T placed third with a shot of dice or die, di,
dye.....whatever......he never left the house on that one. Hey Andrea,
when I congratulated Don Peck on his tremendous images around the globe,
I kid you not....his comment to me was.. " You just got to be there,
when you visit a beautiful place and take a few pictures....you can't go
wrong...you'll win something!" Hum......stay home and photograph bugs or
travel to exotic lands......?..........I better get packing. Got
"people" category next month.
I understand the Swiss are very friendly. :-)
