Some time ago there was discussion of taking stereo photographs
of astronomical objects. Just today, I was reading V23, No.2 issue
of Stereo World when I should have been preparing a lecture and
found a stereo photograph of the moon by Thomas Atkins Gillam of
Osbornville, NJ. It is strikingly beatiful. It was contibuted to
the Holmes Library.

His comments included "The stereo baseline is attained by taking the
moon's libration into account, making the left and right views at
different times, namely at the full moon during different months
[9/19/94 and 2/14/95]". Celestron telescope, 1250mm f/10 lens,
1/125th sec.

Thus it can be done, but not easily.

Would anyone know if copies are available?
