P3D mounting questions

Wisdom of the 3-D sages sought!

I have mounted several roll of slides lately. As a beginner, I have been
learning as I go. Now I have questions.

I have a heat press that was used for gold foil stamping. The heat
setting is adjustable from 100 to 600 degrees F.

What is an ideal temp to use?
How much time should the seal be heated?
Does the amount of applied pressure affect the seal?
How close to the edge of the film should I seal?
Should the slide be free to float like a panel in a cabinet?

I have been using a filmstrip splicing cutter to separate the slides,
but have considered building my own cutter.

Will the end of a frame always be in the middle of a perforation?
Will it vary depending on the camera? (I use a TDC vivid)

Your suggestions and logical explanations appreciated!

                           Hershel
