P3D Are registered slide projectors a must for 3D projection of slides?

Are the more expensive registered slide projectors a must for 3D
projection?  I have a cheaper Kodak projector that doesn't register
the slides.  If I want to project 3D slides should I invest in these
more expensive projectors.  I know Kodak makes both kinds.

P.S. I got my current slide projector and a silver screen at a tag
sale for only $20 bucks.  What a deal!
