P3D Stereo 3D Literature & Reel 3-D

Talking about historical stereo literature, I would like to mention
the reproductions of two historic books offered by Reel 3-D:

- "Stereoscopic Phenomena of Light and Sight" by Theodore Brown, 1903
- "The Stereoscope and Stereoscopic Photography" by F. Drouin, 1894.

Both books offer a unique insight into the world of stereoscopic
photography, 100 years ago. Or, as a reviewer put it (OK, it was me
:-)), for Drouin's book: "The variety of devices in the book exceeded
my wildest imagination. I read the book cover to cover and found it
so fascinating that I could not put it down until I was done.
This book helped me understand and appreciate the stereoscopic
knowledge of the late 19th century".

These are among other books offered by Reel 3-D:

- Reel 3-D News 1978-1980
- Jim Crain's "California in Depth"
- Paul Wing's "Stereoscopes - The First One Hundred Years"
- "3-D Hollywood"
- "Guide to the Nimlso 3D Camera"
- Burder's & Whitehouse's "Photographing in 3-D"
- Russell Norton's "Stereoviews Illustrated"
- Waack's "Stereo Photography"
- Nazarieff's "The Stereoscopic Nude: 1850-1930"
- Hayes' "3-D Movies"
- Waldsmith's "Stereo Views"
- Zeller's "The Civil War in Depth"
- Girling's "Stereoscopic Drawings"

Better get these now before it is too late... I know people who wish
they could go back in time and order Morgan and Symmes' "Amazing 3-D" or
Lipton's "Stereoscopic Cinema" (both offered by Reel 3-D at the time).

Many of us have recollected how we got started in 3d, starting with
memories of View Master or Stereoviews as children. I would like to
mention that Reel 3-D helped many of us to come back in the dark
years of the 80s. When stereo photography had reached a deep low,
Reel 3-D's catalog served as the first step for many of us to come
back to 3d with a wide offering of mounts and stereo accessories.
In Reel 3-D's catalog I was first introduced to the "Realist" and later
to EMDE and Albion mounts. Not to mention the $3 viewer (now $3.25 :-))
SV1 for standard stereo slides... This viewer and a cheap Stereo Realist
opened the gates to stereo heaven for myself and many others.

You can reach Reel 3-D via email at: Reel3D@xxxxxxx or check them
out in the net via www.stereoscopy.com/reel3d.
