P3D polarizer filters (& that competitive sp

RE: Two Polarizers on a Stereo Camera:
I've obsessed about rigging two separate polarizer filters on my colorist
and realist - but UNLESS YOU GET THOSE TWO POLARIZERS SYNCHED
EXACTLY, you will get definate light reflection differences with an
annoying sitellation (sp.?) effect.
Polarizer Regrets:
Believe it or not, I once had a like-new Rochewhite polarizer rig that
was, er, immediately bought from me (before I even tried it) for an amount
I could not refuse :-)
Root of My Obsession:
A few years back, I took a series of what I though were pretty decent
Fall Tree n' Leaves shots w/ K64 in my Colorist II on a tripod. They
were a magnificant color that I spotted near a church on my drive
home from work. The low, dusk light was a definate pink and my
"window of optimal lighting opportunity" was at best 15 mins or so.
I was pleased enuf w/ 'em & submitted a few to the Gamma SSA folio,
gathering nice enough comments (I never got my slides in the "Top
10" any given year, though). Well, wouldn't you know it, another VERY
talented folio member submitted ONLY cha-cha shots from his Pentax.
He just stopped his car one Fall day, jumped out w/ his flattie full-
framer, and cha-cha shot trees on Velvia through his Polarizer. His
folio submission was awesome, retina-blistering, and probably the most
intense stereo fall scene I ever seen (and gathered much praise, grrrrrrr...)
Revenge:
I vowed to NEVER shoot another Fall scene w/o a polarizer. And haven't,
really, (more due to the lack of an adequate filter solution).
Well, THIS Fall, it's SEARCH AND DESTROY! I'm armed with the Bogen
shift bar, 220 Velvia, a rotating deep yellow UV TINTED polarizer AND a 6x7
Omega Rapid w/ 58mm Hexanon lens! Of course, I haven't rejoined Gamma
and Medium Format slide pairs would not be accepted in it anyway (I joined
Joel's MF folio now). If THIS set-up doesn't deliver calendar-quality intensity,
I'll poke an eye out!!!* :-)
