P3D Loreo/Argus/Nimslo macros

Well, after the excitment and subsequent deflation over the Loreo/Argus
prospect (I speaking of Macro camera use here, NOT Viagra :-) ) I'm led
full circle to reintroduce the Nimslo macro concepts:

Focus:
Easy enough- it can be changed with an assessory snap-on
lens (like Techo Nimslo) or by opening the thang up and refocusing the
internal lens ("I'm not going to twry it...LET MIKEY TWRY IT!") .

Smaller Aperature:
(which seems necessary for ANY macro stereo work)
The grain-of-wheat-light-bulb-in-front-of-the-autoexposure-cell trick
seemed to work for me, but was quite ungainly (unless the Techo
folks come out with a neat, little snap-on unit).

My pinhole-masks-pushed-behind-the-lens suggestion didn't seem to
gather much practical support (and maybe wouldn't work anyway?)

The suggestion of sticking something on the shutter/aperature blades
to limit their travel when opening is interesting, BUT, has anyone
actually succeeded with it yet?

I'd prefer NOT to open up my Nimslo for any modifications. I would if I
had more confidence in my engineering ability AND if Nimslos were
still going for $30 a pop! :-)

Until Macro Realists grow on trees...

LS
