P3D Melting Mounts

the black side was towards the light), but a milder form of the problem

1) That's nice, if you can convince everyone in the world who enters PSA
exhibitions and club competitions to use them! {;>)
2) I think this is avoiding the problem rather than fixing it. You
should be able to use RBT mounts in any projector, or they wouldn't be
selling them in the first place. This appears to be a projector problem,
not a mount problem.
3) If there is sufficient heat to melt a mount (including the white
side), then there is the possibility of also damaging the images, no
matter what type mount they are in (except, possibly, glass mounted
slides).
I want to solve the problem, not go around it. Some of these images are
irreplaceable originals (a good reason to make dupes). We have a duty to
do the best we can to protect them (although we cannot make any
guarantees).
