If there is sufficient heat to melt an RBT mount...or any plastic mount,
white side or even black side...then DONT USE THAT PROJECTOR! Nice
quick way to destroy your images ! The projector either has
insufficient ventilation...or needs service. Dr Tee
(DrT-3d@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) is knowledgeable on the subject of
proper ventilation for older 3D projectors like the TDC''s, Realists,
Compco's...etc...which all will run well, with proper set up and care.
Newer stereo projectors like the Brackett Dissolver, or the currently
available Brackett Fader can run a slide for as long as the user wants
with no threat of heat to the image (in the low 90 degrees c at the film
plane)....but intense light from a projector bulb is certainly not what
I would call "good" for the image.
The RBT mount's white halve, is reflective to heat....certainly more
than the black side. I go back to my age old example. Get in a white
car with a light colored interior on a 100 degree sunny day....then get
in a black car with a dark interior.....which one will be hotter...given
the choice...which one do you want to drive around in with no air
conditioning?...need I say more. Jon G
