I seem to recall from Jon that glass mounted slides are MORE likely
to be damaged from heat because the glass (which is a good insulator
if one recalls heating a rod of glass in high school so one end is
glowing red and the other end is cold in one's hand) keeps "in" the heat
generated by radiation onto the film.

Do I remember right Jon?

P.S. - How about chrome'ing the slide mounts?   Chrome RBT mounts would
       look neat, even if it made reflections all over the place.  :-)
