P3D Prints or dups from Realist Slides

Has anyone has success in making a jig of some sort to duplicate Realist
slides?  I've tried by using a slide duplicator on my 135 camera and
photographing the pairs one at a time, but I can't seem to get the
images in the right place each time.  Also, I loose a lot of contrast in
the process.  Has anyone done this with any degree of luck?  Is there a
better way?  How about making prints from slides, when I try that I gain
TOO MUCH contrast.  Any ideas?
