I'd say "do not accept", not "do not recognize".  Maybe they do not have
the projection equipment or they want consistency of judging.<

True. I know that equipment hassles are one of the main reasons we (SCSC)
don't mix formats in the Hollywood Exhibition at this time. And there is
also a certain psychological factor in judging--2x2 slides do tend to "look
better" at first glance than the Realist format (probably because the
projectors tend to be brighter and sharper and project a larger image than
the older TDC we use for Realist format projection) and this does give 2x2s
a distinct edge in judging. That's why we separate them out into their own
category in club competitions.
