This is true.  I find that when I am relatively close to a subject, or there
is a foregorund element like an overhanging tree branch, it can be "seen" by
one lens and not the other.  It is also true that dimly lit subjects which
would cause a single lense to "hunt" for focus can cause both lenses to hunt
independently of each other.  Sometimes, if I am in an especially difficult
situation, I stop down to a small aperture, set the lenses to manual focus and
fire away. Jim Norman
