 Subject: P3D stereoscope I found

I came across this stereoscope (and a 1941 Kodak ABC Darkroom Outfit)
and was wondering if anybody can tell me anything about it. It has no
names, dates, logos or anything on it. It's black metal and folds
flat. It's too small for Holmes cards. It takes two small (about one
or two inch wide) photos which are slipped into slots on the inside of
the U shaped scope when unfolded. The stage can be turned around to
accomodate slightly larger photos, none of which I have. It was
probably purchased towards the end of the twenties.

This will be a "Camerascope" Viewer. They are relatively common, having been
sold both for the Camerascope views themselves and also for cigarette cards in
the "Peeps into Many Lands" issued with Army Club cigarettes in two sizes.

The cigarette cards had one chip on each card and fitted into the carrier that
you described. The Camerascope views were mounted as pairs and fit into the
slot without using the cigarette card carrier.

The nicest thing about these images is that they are all REAL PHOTOS not litho
prints. As such the copy beautifully and have, in fact, filled a gap in my
sequence of stereos of Egypt. They fall neatly between the Underwood and
Underwood cards and the ViewMaster reels. Howard Carter's tents (used when he
was discovering the tomb of TutAnkhAmun) are visible in a couple of the views
of the Valley of the Kings!
