   Today's Detroit is not the Michigan you grew up in!  Traffic was nice
until about 10 years ago.  Today, getting across Detroit is about as
easy as driving the lower deck of the Nimitz - after the quake.
   When I leave work on the East Side of Detroit destined for an OSPS
meeting (Independence, OH), I spend about as much time going from work
to the Downriver suburbs as I do to get from Downriver to Independence
on the Ohio Turnpike.
