P3D Stereo at Photo+ Expo East'98

I went to the Photo+ show yesterday. There seem to be a whole bunch
of new companies in Europe producing unusual (mostly wide angle or
panoramic) medium format cameras. I can pass on this information if
anyone is interested.
One of the folks at Freestyle <URL:http://www.freestylesalesco.com/>
confirmed that the Lubitel is no longer being made, and that they have
the last of them. I think he said they had 60 of them left, but I
could be misremembering. He said they are on the look out for a
replacement for the Lubitel.
Apparently I just missed meeting Dr. Gilde. I picked up the brochure
and it lists two stereo cameras: 66-17 MST (2x6x7 with a 78mm base)
and the 66-17 MST Super (2x6x9 with a 84mm base).
Kiev USA had a Sputnik for sale for $300. It looked kind of rough,
but I have only seen a couple of Sputniks, so it might have been
average for them.
I met Burkhardt Kiegeland from Lotus View Camera
<URL:http://www.lotusviewcamera.at/> again. I talked to him about
trying to do 4x10 View Magic format with an 8x10 camera (two 4x10
images on a single sheet of 8x10, using the cameras rise/fall to
position the film back, to produce View Magic contact prints). I'm
currently in the testing stage with a 4x5 and a cut down dark slide
(this would have to be enlarged to 8x10). His camera doesn't have
enough back rise/fall for this, but he'd be willing to make a special
camera (it just needs longer tracks). I showed him one of my MF pairs
(the Empire State Building from Herald Square), and he told me that he
has formed a partnership with Gandolfi in England to build a 4x10
stereo camera (producing two 4x5 images). This sounds like the camera
I discussed with him at last year's show. He didn't know how much it
would cost. Since last year Lotus View Camera has started selling
film and paper, so 4x10 film (and several other unusual formats) is
now available commerically without having to cut down 8x10 sheets.
