P3D Project - or -View / Stereo Royal?

Regarding TDC Project-or-Views. Every 3D person I know around here
has had one at one time or another. I was looking for one myself at
one time. They seem to always be in good shape and fairly available
 -so I guess they were relatively popular and well-cared for in the 50's.

Instead of a PoV, I opted for the Stereo Royal Viewer - which I'll be
getting any day now from DDDalia. :-). Has anyone had any experience
with them? They cannot really be used as a stand alone projector
and their features and construction seem much simpler then a PoV.
But, they're awfully cute, small and convenient
(i.e., something I might actually use and carry around with me).
