Yes - I've noted the research into those (gulp). Occasionally I get a flash from
a supermarket scanner, which I perceive as bright, but not blinding. On the other
hand I got a quick "swipe" across the left eye with a 3 mw pointer one time at
a distance of a couple of feet, and had an afterimage for at least an hour.
Since I've been moving around CD-ROM burners lately, and the case says "Invisible laser light - avoid exposure to beam" - this is a "class 1" device.
