P3D HP Photo Smart scanner

Hi,
sorry for being probably off topic,
but i think this scanner has been discussed before.

I'd like to scan mainly 35mm slides, photos from time to time,
and MF slides.

according to HP, Photos are scanned with 300dpi up to 5x7 inch
and slides (35 mm) with 2700dpi.

Can i also scan 6x6cm slides 'as photos' with 300 dpi,
but with the 'light through' option?

Does somebody already own one, and enlighten me on this ?.
