P3D Sorry for my Lenticular Comment

>>In fact Bob, Lenticulars can be AMAZING, and are easily embraced by
many. I know of at least 10 people here in town that now use lenticular
3D imaging now for day to day picture taking that otherwise would not.
It's easy (take the picture - drop it off for developing, pick it up and
enjoy), reasonably affordable and can be extremely pleasing. Good
lenticulars always get plenty of ohs and ahs.
Let's not shoot down another type of 3D just because it's not a personal
favorite. Maybe you just haven't seen the right lenticular images yet?
Dan... I am not trying to 'Shoot down' anything. It is just that for as
good as a Lenticular image is, there are better types of stereo imaging. I
like Lenticular, but I have a problem with their overall quality.
Incidentally, I do not particularly care for anaglyphic images, for many of
the same reasons. The technology is getting better, and more people are
getting into this type of work. Eastman Kodak Company, for example, seems
to be pushing Lenticular imaging further.
I think Lenticulars are neat, and I have a few in my collection. Starting
with XOGRAPHS, some stuff made with 14 lens cameras, a few made by
commercial View Cameras that used a Lenticular grating to create the image
during photography, then laminated a duplicate screen to the images after
processing. These were well made and the processing was greatly simplified.
I have a number of sheets of Bhutan Lenticular Stamps, etc. I even
collected a number of the Lenticular images the 7-11 used to promote
beverages. They were of good old Rudolph.
If I sounded like I hate Lenticulars or if I sounded like I think they are
pure krap, sorry. My point was that no lenticulars compete with a well made
Kodachrome. I also think with technology like the updated color Vectograph
process, Lenticulars might have a competitor in the near future.
I also realize that there are people who love this type of stereo, and who
am I to say anything. If you like Lenticulars, great. Stereo, regardless of
what the process is, is a good thing.
