In P3D Digest 3070 Dr. T says:

Your right. But at least I am able to use the camera. It's not like
buying a Lamborghini and having to leave it in the garage because
you can't afford the insurance *{;-)

Actually I use the Spicer mounts because I like them and RBT's
just don't come in all those great sizes. The reduced height 7p
comes in real handy for cloud hypers. You see I also use my RBT
(X3 not S1) for shooting out a plane window. I shoot two sets and
match the best pairs and get a second set to give to friends. The
problem is that planes are not very steady. The reduced height
Spicer mount allows me to adjust the film chips to get proper
mounting. This is not always possible in a normal mount. Besides
the reduced height gives more of a lanscape framing.

I also use the Spicers because they are cheap - I mean
inexpensive. I shoot a lot of film and just couldn't afford to mount all
of them in RBT's. I got my X3 in August and have already shot over
40 rolls of film in it. At 20 pairs per roll that is 800 stereo pairs and
at $0.64 per RBT that is $512.00. The same pairs in Spicers cost
me $40.00. All that money I save is going to pay for the hefty
mortgage I got when I refinanced the house to buy the RBT in the
first place *{;-)

That's all for now,
